Did you know that Europe also has a desert? Do you know where it is? Or what it is called? I didn’t know it until last summer when we visited Andalucia.
It was more Andalucia, Spanish flamenco music, and the Alhambra (Tiles of Granda is my blog post from there) that were calling us to the southern part of Spain. In the province of Almeria, we learned about Europe’s only desert Tabernas. The movie above is from our day trip to the Western theme park, Oasys (known as Mini Hollywood), with Pepe’s tour.
Oasys Mini Hollywood was the original filming location of many of the most famous Spaghetti Westerns of the 60s and 70s, including The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More, Sergio Leone’s classic Western trilogy. Oasys Mini Hollywood is also the filming location for some scenes in the “White Lines.”
Very interesting post. The Spaghetti Westerns are great. Now I know where they were filmed.
