Would you dare to walk that path?

While I was in Peru, trekking in Ausangate (the sacred mountain in the Sacred Valley of Peru), the Quechua chief gave me the name Cusy Ccoyllor, which means happy star.

I’m probably a happy star while traveling, so it’s not surprising that I got that particular name. It is a gift that keeps on giving. Knowing my love for travel and exploration, my friend shared this link with me. link that contributed to this post. The scenery took my breath away.

“How do they dare, and would I risk my life like that?”

I held my breath as I watched the graceful mother carry her little child over the steep rock face. For what? To get to Abuna Yemata Guh, a church located in Hawsen Woreda in the Tigray region, Ethiopia. 

Thearcheologist.org refers to it as the most inaccessible place of worship on earth. “It has an altitude of 2,580 meters (8,460 ft) and must be climbed on foot to be reached. With an architecture, dome and beautiful wall paintings dating back to the 6th century.”

I have to admit having faith does not come easily. It needs to be worked on daily, but would I dare to face the climb of faith? Even though I am an explorer by nature and a happy star on the road, I enjoy having my feet on the ground.

I will add this fantastic path to my bucket list. Maybe, breathing deeply is needed while pondering on my question. Would I dare to take the big leap of faith and walk that path to the top? Before that, I’m heading to a two-week dance art project, so this will be my last post for a few weeks.
