The Whisper of the Dunes
Long ago, when silence still spoke, a water bearer named Idris lived on the edge of the Moroccan Sahara. Each dawn, he walked into the desert with clay jars. He sought a hidden well known only to the stars and wind. One day, a sandstorm rose like fire. Blinded and lost, Idris cried, “Why have you abandoned me?”
The desert answered only with stillness. When the storm faded, Idris stood before a glowing dune. An old woman in indigo appeared. Her eyes were as deep as time.
“You seek water,” she said, “but your thirst is not of the body.”
“What do I seek?” he asked.
She pointed to the sand. “The desert is a mirror. It shows only yourself—until you learn to see with the heart.” Then she vanished. For three days, Idris wandered without food or water. On the fourth, he collapsed. In surrender, all fear dissolved. In that quiet, he heard it—a deep hum, like the Earth remembering itself. He began digging and soon struck stone. A spring burst forth—clear, cold, forgiving.
Idris returned, not with water but with silence. The desert had not given him answers. It had given him himself.
This story is an invitation to my upcoming retreat, Move With Intention, from October 20–27 in the Moroccan desert. Over these days, we will explore what it means to go beneath the noise. Our journey will be guided by intention, movement, and the vast stillness of the dunes.
This is a journey for those willing to delve into the quiet power that lives within the current moment. We explore it through movement and body-based awareness.
Life is a continuous process, with movement and change as essential parts of it. Evolution is always available—if we allow it. Sometimes, we must let ourselves be drawn back in time to reassess, to see with new eyes. There is always more to unfold, more to recognize, more to learn. Life can be lived in countless ways.
In each of our stories, a red thread pulls us toward growth. It often reveals itself through recurring patterns of thoughts, emotions, or challenges. So often, we become our own jailers—caught in those looping stories, believing them, or shutting down to avoid feeling.
The journey toward freedom begins when we dare to face where we are stuck and meet ourselves there with compassion. It begins when we hold our process with tenderness instead of judgment. This is where true transformation takes root. These patterns will return—again and again—until we meet them with awareness, courage, and acceptance.
What I describe here is only one side of the experience. Reading about it engages the mind—but the real key lies in our lived experiences. It’s the personal journey that unlocks our inner wisdom.
My personal experience has shown that the path often winds through faith and trust. We strengthen these muscles with each conscious choice—when we walk the unknown path and when we follow our inner guidance. Because there are no guarantees in life.
Yes, I am aware that many modern humans think pragmatically. Some also believe they are in control of life. For them, faith and trust can feel distant, almost obsolete.
Creating this retreat is, for me, part of practicing faith and trust. It is a way to gather those who feel the call to pause—to listen and to Move with Intention.
This retreat is a space to meet ourselves with curiosity, acceptance, and compassion. Growth happens when we allow ourselves to be fully present with whatever arises within us. We are all simply on a human journey. Getting to know ourselves—and taking our power back—is part of that path.

🌿 My Journey with Movement
As long as I can remember, I’ve been full of energy. Movement came naturally to me. At seventeen or eighteen, I began exercising every day. Back then, I simply thought I was being sporty—always active.
I kept going—swimming, aerobics, jogging, yoga. I studied Eastern philosophy and shamanic wisdom. Yet despite all this, a part of me still longed to be seen, heard, and held. Only later did I realize I was moving to survive emotions I didn’t yet know how to feel. Movement saved me from drowning in my own story.
Eventually, I could no longer ignore this truth. That’s when I discovered the power of intention. Rising above old patterns became essential. I was exhausted by the weight of victimhood and longed to lift my consciousness to a new level. This intention became a turning point—and a healer’s question helped me along the way.
During one of our first sessions, he asked me if I was in contact with my body. Without hesitation, I replied, “Of course I am.” He paused, then asked again: “But are you truly in contact with your body?”
Confused, I insisted that I was. A third time, he repeated the question. I explained, “I exercise, I eat well, I love my body.” He simply nodded and let the question linger between us.
Over the months that followed, his words cracked something open. A slow, quiet revolution began. What I share now was born from that shift. My life is not perfect. I still walk through the full experience of being human. Yet I live with a deeper sense of authenticity and courage. When fear or turmoil arise, I meet them. They often show up in my body, but now I lean in through bodywork instead of running away.
Listening to my inner guidance has opened the possibility of living according to my heart’s deepest desires. I am currently on a year-long journey. It has brought me to the beautiful town of Pai in northern Thailand.
Here, I am gently weaving together my upcoming retreat. I’m enjoying the creative process as my days unfold in a simple bungalow nestled in a lush green garden. The wild, calming sounds of nature soothe me. Once more, I’m choosing to walk the path of the unknown. I am leaning into the serene process of creation, and dreaming about the people I am yet to meet. Into the sound of the desert. Under a night sky jeweled with stars, where we will sing around the bonfire.
While I hold to my intention, to hold a soft, honest space for those who resonate with these words. A place for those who long to explore themselves with curiosity, out in nature under the open sky. For those open to the dance between movement, stillness and joy.
